Electrolytic phosphating process using as the electrolyte a solution containing phosphate and metal ions, nitrous acid and alkali and alkaline earth nitrites. It works at 50 °C with a current density of 3.5 A/dm2 and an alternating current of 60 Hz for 2 to 4 minutes.
